The dance ran successfully at Whitfords for many years, but the dance program
did not change in line with other local ballroom dances such as Perth Seniors
and the dances offered at the main dance studios. Attendance gradually
declined as members who ceased for various reasons were not being replaced
by new ones. The dance was in danger of closing altogether by the end of 2024.
That would have been a great shame as the venue is convenient and the hall has
an excellent floor and good sound system.
Des Young came along in May 2024 to provide the music. He saw the problem
and took over the program to make it more attractive to new members. This has
succeeded; we have increased the membership with many dancers who also
dance at Perth Seniors, at Wanneroo and some other locations joining us.

We have regular walk throughs where we can see that some participants may be 

having difficulties. The walk throughs are designed only to assist participants to 

learn the sequences. 

Charles Todd has created this very useful website to keep current members
informed and attract new ones. We have made great progress in a very short
time and plan to do much more in 2025.
